  • Part-time Position (Up to 30.4 fortnightly hours). Fixed Term Contract Ending 31 March 2025. 
  • $86,398 pro rata per annum + Super + Salary Packaging* (to increase your take home pay). 
  • Located in Salisbury.

We are seeking a compassionate Family Advisor to support individuals and families at our Family Relationship Centre. In this role, you will respond to clients' needs both in person and over the phone, helping them identify issues and explore options for resolution. You will provide valuable information, parenting advice, and case management support where appropriate, ensuring that clients have the guidance they need to address their concerns effectively. 

 

Who we are looking for 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (AQF Level 7) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Social Services or Certificate (AQF Level 4) or Diploma (AQF Level 5) in a similar field with at least three years of relevant experience.  

It would be a bonus if you need: 

  • Experience in assessment, advocacy, referral, case management and crisis work in a counselling or mediation environment in the community services industry.

 

What you will be doing  

  • Provide telephone and face-to-face support to clients in need.
  • Conduct comprehensive screening and risk assessments, focusing on issues like family and domestic violence and child safety.
  • Offer advocacy and referrals to clients when necessary.
  • Assist in creating and implementing educational and developmental programs for clients.
  • Contribute to delivering culturally responsive family services.
  • Exercise initiative and sound judgment, especially when guidelines are not clear.
  • Take responsibility for various functions within the Family Dispute Resolution service.
  • Support program activities to ensure high-quality service delivery.
