Together4Kids (T4K) is a specialist children’s therapeutic outreach service for children aged between 0-12 years old who are accompanying a parent/s into a Family Domestic Violence or Homeless Services. The position is based in our Berri Relationships Australia office, where there is a wonderful and supportive team, and you will also be well supported by the Together 4 Kids Team Leader and Senior Children’s Practitioners from the Adelaide-based team.

Who we are looking for 

Together4Kids (T4K) is a specialist children’s therapeutic outreach service for children aged between 0-12 years old who are accompanying a parent/s into a Family Domestic Violence or Homeless Services. The position is based in our Berri Relationships Australia office, where there is a wonderful and supportive team, and you will also be well supported by the Together 4 Kids Team Leader and Senior Children’s Practitioners from the Adelaide-based team.

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (AQF Level 7) in Early Childhood, Social Work, Social Science, Human Services, Psychology, Health, Occupational Therapy or Midwifery OR a Certificate (AQF Level 4) or Diploma (AQF Level 5) in in Counselling, Infant Mental Health, Childhood Trauma and in delivering evidence-based parenting programs with significant relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in working therapeutically with children.

It would be a bonus if you: 

  • Experience in working with children and families in crisis or experiencing domestic violence and homelessness.
  • Understanding of the effects of trauma on infants, children and adults.
  • Experience in working with Aboriginal communities, children, families and services.

 

What you will be doing  

You will be part of a team dedicated to innovating practice that champion children’s voices to the sector,  promotes children’s strengths and supports their healing in partnership with their families in the 14 week sessions.

  • Undertake child-focused assessments of children and their caregivers, proficiently utilising RASA DOORS framework, including Kids DOORS screening tools, along with various outcome and evaluation tools.
  • Provide customised therapeutic programs to individual children in their homes, other agencies or other outreach locations.
  • Maintain a case load of 10 - 13 individual children or as prescribed by the Team Leader,  working across outreach locations in the Riverland region, and participate in regular case reviews to ensure progression towards therapeutic goals.
  • Ensure evaluation, feedback from the child and families voice is collected, heard and actioned within program boundaries.
  • Take initiative and work collaboratively within the team to develop own therapeutic skills, reflective practice and professional judgement in responding to children and families.
