Who we are looking for 

As part of the AISR team, the Education Support Officer provides direct one-to-one and group support to learners who are enrolled in nationally recognised training, as well as non-accredited workshops and programs. This involves support to enhance participation, engagement, and course completion, including setting educational goals and providing ongoing case work to enable positive outcomes. The role also includes assisting with the design of learning materials, coordinating learning activities, and providing literacy, numeracy and digital literacy support. 

 

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • A tertiary qualification at Certificate level (AQF 4) or above in education, social sciences, psychology or related field, or significant demonstrated knowledge, competencies and experience appropriate to this role.
  • Experience supporting adult learners in an educational, community or vocational learning environment.
  • Extensive experience within the community services and health sector. 

It would be a bonus if you: 

  • Certificate IV (AQF level 4) in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
  • Qualifications in adult language literacy and numeracy (LLN) support such as a Foundation Skills skillset 
  • A current qualification, in a relevant subject area

What you will be doing   

  • Support the delivery of community services vocational qualifications and non-accredited workshops in the nominated subject area, under the guidance of a qualified trainer/assessor. Assist with the delivery of accredited and non-accredited learning in line with the Australian Qualification Framework (where applicable) and discipline best practice.
  • Under the direction of Senior Educators and the Team Leader, contribute to the development of a broad range of accredited and non-accredited learning programs including content design and sequencing, mapping to units of competency, creating flexible assessment strategies and embedding student support.
  • Contribute to the development of interactive e-learning materials and delivery of programs in a variety of modes.
  • Provide direct student support to enable completions and achievement of competencies
  • Contribute to the development of plans and contract submissions for the AISR.
