Executive Manager Intensive Counselling and Support Services

Job No: R202566
Location: Adelaide

Relationships Australia South Australia (RASA) is a secular, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening family and community relationships so that individuals can thrive. For more than 70 years, we have been a trusted provider of relationship and community services across South Australia, and we continue to play a leading role within the Relationships Australia Federation nationwide.

Following the retirement of several long-serving Executive leaders, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Executive Manager, Intensive Counselling and Support Services. This pivotal role provides both strategic and operational leadership across RASA’s intensive counselling, trauma recovery, and gambling help services — including supports for people affected by institutional and out-of-home care, child sexual abuse, adoption, donor conception, and victims of crime.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and as a key member of the Executive Team, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed services that promote access, inclusion, and improved wellbeing outcomes for clients and communities.

You will lead service design, policy development, workforce capability, and stakeholder engagement, while supporting organisational growth and innovation. A central part of the role is ensuring that programs are effective, sustainable, and aligned with RASA’s strategic direction, values, and commitment to excellence.

You will also contribute to a service culture that:

  • prevents and heals the impacts of family and institutional violence
  • strengthens cultural safety for clients and staff
  • upholds the rights, voices, and wellbeing of children — including where children are not the primary client

About You

You are an experienced human services sector leader and bring:

  • Extensive leadership experience in the human services sector, including trauma-informed, inclusive, and evidence-based program delivery.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7 or above) in human services or other relevant discipline, or the equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading intensive counselling multidisciplinary teams and contributing to rigorous service design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Experience supporting people affected by trauma, including those who have experienced abuse, separation from biological family, gambling harm, or crime-related harm.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing new business opportunities and managing complex programs across multiple service areas in the context of sector partnerships and lived experience advocacy.
  • Experience in managing complex client matters and multidisciplinary service challenges
  • Demonstrated experience in working effectively with funders, government agencies, and sector partners to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Proven capacity to ensure high-quality service delivery through the effective use of accurate data, reliable evaluation, and research evidence to guide decision-making, performance reporting, and accountability.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading organisational change and driving continuous improvement processes.
  • You will have a commitment to collaboration and joined up service delivery and organisational systems, including working with people with lived experience relevant to the service portfolio.
