Who we are looking for 

We’re looking for a highly skilled, compassionate counsellor who can confidently navigate complex family dynamics while keeping the safety and wellbeing of children at the centre of their work.

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Tertiary qualification (AQF level 7) in social work, psychology, counselling or related discipline.
  • Experience working with individuals, couples and families in a therapeutic context.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing counselling to those effected by Family and Domestic Violence including children and those using violence in relationships. 

It would be a bonus if you have: 

  • Tertiary qualification (AQF level 8) in social work, psychology, counselling or related discipline
  • A post graduate (AQF level 9) qualification in social work, psychology or counselling. 
  • Experience working with in the community services industry. 

 

What you will be doing  

In this role, the Counsellor/Senior Counsellor will provide high-quality counselling to individuals, couples and families, completing thorough risk assessments and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children. They will support clients experiencing complex issues, deliver group programs, collaborate with other services, and maintain clear case records. The role also includes contributing to culturally informed practice, offering supervision to staff and students, and supporting service development and education activities across the organisation.
