What you will be doing  

The Business and Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that RASA’s not-for-profit registered training organisation – the Australian Institute of Social Relations (AISR) – meets all requirements of the VET Quality Framework and other applicable legislation. This includes leading the oversight of AISR’s compliance with national training standards, regulatory requirements, and all functions related to data integrity, credential issuance, and continuous improvement in training and assessment services.

The Manager will also lead the analysis of AISR’s business needs, the design of business solutions, and the implementation of strategies for business development. The aim of the role is to strengthen the sustainability of AISR while supporting its mission to educate in ways that transform social relations.

 

Who we are looking for  

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Tertiary qualifications at AQF level 7 in Business, Adult Education or Marketing.
  • Extensive experience leading business and compliance functions within a Registered Training Organisation.
  • Experience with VET sector qualifications, VET fees/student loans, and RTO reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with industry stakeholders in the development and delivery of education and training services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 and the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2025, including ASQA’s expectations for leadership, governance, and credential integrity.
  • Understanding of regulatory bodies, frameworks, and their interrelationships – including ASQA, NCVER, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) and Skills SA.

It would be a bonus if you have: 

  • Proven experience overseeing or coordinating internal audits, regulatory reporting, scope of registration management, and continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Ability to interpret and operationalise legislative and policy requirements into practical systems and procedures.
  • High level project management skills.
  • Experience developing business objectives, strategic priorities and accompanying financial plans.
  • Knowledge of key industry stakeholders and potential markets for community services education.
  • Knowledge of the Community Services sector and human services delivery
