  • Ongoing, Part-Time Position (60.8 fortnightly hours)  
  • $89,422.00 pa + Super + Salary Packaging* (to increase your take home pay) 
  • Located in Marion
  • Availability to work an evening shift on either Tuesday or Thursday is preferred

Who we are looking for 

We are seeking a dedicated Gambling Help Service Practitioner to provide counseling support to individuals, couples, and families affected by gambling-related issues. This client-focused role involves assisting clients in addressing problematic gambling behaviors, understanding the impacts on themselves and their loved ones, and identifying underlying factors contributing to the issue.

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree (AQF level 7) in social work, psychology or counselling or a diploma (AQF level 5) in counselling and demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a human services field
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals, couples or families in a therapeutic context. 

It would be a bonus if you have: 

  • A postgraduate (AQF level 9) qualification in social work, psychology or counselling.
  • Experience in community engagement; community education, and cross-sector liaison. 

 

What you will be doing  

  • Ensure the provision of high-quality, responsive counselling and support services which respond to the gambling-related harms experienced by individuals, couples, and families from a diverse range of groups and communities.
  • Undertake comprehensive screening and risk assessment of issues.
  • Ensure client safety through the use of screening tools and appropriate reporting and referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with other services and make referrals appropriate to the needs of clients.
  • Ensure entry and maintenance of all client records into RASA’s Client Information System and contribute to service monitoring reports as required.
