Who we are looking for 

The Service Impact Advisor will deliver and consult on research and evaluation activities which show the impact of RASA services. The Advisor will help RASA answer these crucial questions: ‘How much did we do; how well did we do it; and is anyone better off?’ and then ‘What does this mean for our clients, our staff and our funders?

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Degree (AQF level 7) in Evaluation or related field with a strong numerate component (such as psychology, behavioural science, statistics) 
  • Demonstrated ‘data positive’ attitude, and ability to engage stakeholders using both quantitative and qualitative data.  
  • Experience in evaluation research activities such as surveys, interviews or screening and assessment.
  • Experience in mixed methods qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation activities. 

It would be a bonus if you have: 

  • Post graduate qualification in Psychology, Statistics, or similar course with a significant statistical and research component.
  • Experience of administration in the community services industry.
  • Experience in report writing and presenting findings to stakeholders.  
  • Experience in journal article writing and a publishing history in the same. 

 

What you will be doing  

  • Confidently undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis in a variety of contexts using supplied data sets and information sources.
  • Plan and support organisation-wide research initiatives.  
  • Provide advice on evaluation methodologies for the Practice Manager of Family DOORS and Service Impact and other members of the RASA Executive.  
  • Provide support to other members of the Service Impact Team. This will include but will not be limited to, the following areas: screening tools, service evaluation and research methodologies, statistical analysis of quantitative data, qualitative data collection and analysis; and review of articles for publication in professional journals.
  • Write and present reports on RASA activities to RASA staff, or members of external organizations, such as funders or related professional organisations.
